    Best Vegan Tuna Sandwich EVER

One of the things I used to love as a kid was a classic tuna sandwich with chopped up celery. LOVED. IT. Since going vegetarian 11+ years ago I thought that it was something I’d never get to have anything again, which was a huge bummer.

    But then, I tried this:

I seriously still can’t believe how good this stuff is. I had already tried a few other kinds of vegan tuna and nothing has ever come even remotely as close to real tuna as this one. The texture is on point. It’s chunky and flakey like real tuna, though taste-wise it’s not really fishy, which for me, is perfect.

The only thing that they don’t tell you is that there’s a trick to it. It comes in a bag and has an olive-like substance around it. For it to taste the best you have to rinse that off and you’re good to go! It’s amazing. And it’s only 90 calories a pack! I haven’t been able to stop eating these since I tried it. For real. I’m obsessed. It’s kinda bad, cause the only downside is that one pack is about $4. Cha-ching! I hope they lower the price eventually cause it’s pretty pricey.

Note: To keep it low calorie only use one slice of bread and use lettuce leaves as the top for an open face sandwich. Same taste. Lower calories. Huzzah!

    Ingredients:

1 package of Good Catch Tuna Naked in Water

1 tbs Vegan Mayo (Hellmans or Best Foods)

    1 celery stalk chopped

    2 leaves iceberg lettuce

    1-2 pieces of bread

    Salt and Pepper to taste

    Instructions:

    1. Take tuna out of the package and put it in a strainer. Rinse by hand to get the oil off. Pat dry. Set aside.
    2. Chop up celery. Set aside. Rinse and dry lettuce leaves. Set aside.
    3. Combine tuna, chopped celery, mayo, salt and pepper in bowl.
    4. Place tuna mixture onto bread.
    5. Lay lettuce leaves on top

    Voila!

Have you tried this vegan tuna yet? What did you think?
