    5 Kombucha you’ll actually love

Some of you may be thinking, “I’ve heard of Kombucha – but I have no idea what it is? What the heck is it?” Well, it’s a drink that’s basically fermented tea. You mix together water, sugar, tea and sometimes natural flavors and then add some SCOBY (it stands for Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast). You then let it ferment for 7-14 days which metabolizes the sugar and caffeine from the tea and creates probiotics, amino acids and enzymes. Which all works towards helping your gut digest and balances everything out. AWESOME.

    But is it?

I hated kombucha when I first tried it. HATED. IT. I couldn’t even get half way through the bottle! And I was forcing it down. It was so strong, vinegary, and fizzy. Eugh. So gross. But I heard it could help my stomach digest food and help me debloat and just overall feel better… so I persisted. I knew there were a ton of Kombuchas out there. There had to be at least one I could stand! Well, I found it. Actually, I found 5 that I absolutely love. So I figured I’d share them with you!

Holy smokes you guys. This straight up tastes like apple pie! Or like Starbucks hot apple cider. Point is, it’s delicious. It seriously feels like you’re drinking dessert, but it’s low in calories and sugar which is just magical on so many levels.

    Rise Kombucha

Rise Kombucha in Hibiscus & Rose Hips

I love this stuff. I find I have this on hand more often than any other kombucha when I’m in Canada. It’s easy to find (in Canada, not the US unfortunately) and it’s so refreshing. I highly recommend this one if you’re just starting out with Kombucha. I’ve also tried the Blueberry & Maple, and Rose & Schizandra which are also awesome, but this one is my favorite out of all of the Rise kombuchas. I haven’t tried the Ginger, Lemongrass, or Mint & Chlorophyll because I don’t like Ginger, Lemongrass, or Mint drinks so I can’t speak to those. But if you’re into those flavors I’m sure they’re great!

    Simple Truth Organic Kombucha

I found this when I was in Arizona and I was pleasantly surprised. I had never heard of it before, but it sounded similar to my go-to Rise Hibiscus & Rose Hips Kombucha so I went for it. It’s definitely similar! It’s almost juice-like. I really enjoyed it. Definitely on the sweeter side which I love. So if you’re in the US and can’t find Rise Hibiscus & Rose Hips Kombucha, but want something similar this is definitely the closest thing to it.

    Booch

This one is not as dessert-like in comparison to any of the other kombuchas on this list, but it’s still got a hint of sweetness to it. I’d say this is more for the person who doesn’t like sweets as much as I do, since I’m basically like an elf pouring maple syrup on everything sooo… maybe this is more for a regular human. It’s still super delicious though, even to me!

    Holy Kombucha

    Holy Kombucha in Hibiscus Sangria

Last, but definitely not least, my all time favorite kombucha I’ve ever had so far in my entire life – Holy Kombucha in Hibiscus Sangria. Good Laaawd. I don’t drink anymore, but when I used to I LOVED me some sangria. Sweet delicious juice, what dangerous, dangerous times we were livin’ in. Well let me tell you this tastes even better than the real thing – AND it’s actually good for you! It also won’t leave you with a terrible hangover! Bless.

So there you have it. Those are 5 Kombuchas that I promise you’ll really enjoy. Let me know of your favorite kombuchas you’ve tried, or if you’ve tried these! I’m always on the hunt for a new fav.
