CariPRO Electric Toothbrush Review & Giveaway!

I’ve never had a real electric toothbrush. EVER. Though I always wanted one, I just always thought they cost way too much and really how great could they be? I mean, it’s a freakin’ toothbrush. Don’t they all do the same thing? Well, apparently not. LOL.

If you follow me at all you would have seen that I collaborated with Smile Brilliant before when they were gracious enough to send me their teeth whitening kit to test out and run a giveaway. Well, they wanted to team up again and have me test out their new electric toothbrush the CariPRO and do another giveaway, so obviously I was down! I was super impressed with the Smile Brilliant Whitening Kit so I figured if anything could change my mind about electric toothbrushes this would be it! I mean, I’ve never tried one before and here they were offering to send me one. Obviously, I’m gonna try it out! What’s the worst that could happen? I don’t like it? Boohoo.

Like I said before, I was hesitant that this wasn’t going to be any different from my regular toothbrush I’d been using, which was just a cheap manual one I grabbed from a pack at Costco. It’s kind of like an electric toothbrush, but totally not. I’ve been using the “Oral B Pulsar”. I mean, it gets the job done until I go to the dentist for my yearly cleaning and checkup. Or at least, I thought it did. Oh boy, was I wrong.

When I received my CariPRO I immediately unpacked it, quickly read the instructions (plug in your toothbrush and let it charge for a full 24 hours before use) and tested it out the next day! BTW, one full charge will mean you don’t have to charge it for 30 days. And it’s totally waterproof.

Honestly, what the heck have I been doing all this time!? First of all, I totally haven’t been brushing my teeth for as long as I should have been, that’s the first thing I really noticed. The CariPRO has pulses every 30 seconds so that you know when to move on to your next section. And you’re supposed to brush your teeth for a full 2 minutes. I was probably brushing my teeth in under a minute so… there’s that.

What did I think of the brush itself? I mean visually, I’d probably prefer to have more options color-wise, but that really has nothing to do with the performance of the brush. I just love me some white and gold. I kind of wish the brush was a little smaller, it just seems like such a long brush to me. I think I could hold it better if it was a few inches shorter, but I think that may just be because I’m so used to a tiny manual brush.

That being said, I do like that the material of the brush is matte and textured so that it doesn’t slip out of my hand, and the brush head itself is a great size. Not too small, not too big. It’s the perfect size for me to get around my back molars which has always been the hardest spot for me to get to.

I swear I thought the plaque on my back molars was just inevitable and I could never get rid of it until I went to the dentist for a cleaning. This toothbrush got rid of it after using it once. For real. It makes sense though since apparently, it removes 7x more plaque than a manual toothbrush.

There are also 5 different settings on the toothbrush which was kind of mind-blowing to me. I think it’s definitely good to have a few settings, but I think 5 is a bit excessive for me, personally. I could probably do without at least one or two of them. Having options is always a good thing though, don’t get me wrong! I just don’t see myself using all of them.

Here are the 5 different settings (Clean, White, Massage, Gum Care, Sensitive) and what I thought about them:

    CLEAN:

Holy smokes. Okay, so. You know that feeling you have after you go to the dentist and get a cleaning? Like your teeth feel SO freakin’ smooth and like the cleanest, they’ve ever felt? And you’re like, “Yo, for real… how can I get my teeth to feel this clean all the time!?” Well, this is it. Truly. I tried this setting first and I was genuinely shocked at how clean my teeth felt. I didn’t think it was an option for me to get this at home. This is probably my favorite setting out of all of them. It’s the second-fastest setting, which I thought I would hate, but I actually prefer it. I have always had a problem with brushing too hard which has led to my gums receding. This actually prevents me from pushing down too hard because the brush is doing all the work. So if that’s your problem, I think this would help you tremendously.

    WHITE:

To me, this one feels VERY similar to the “CLEAN” option but just faster. I go between this one and the CLEAN option and don’t notice too much of a difference. They’re both great for preventing me from brushing too hard and making my teeth feel super clean. I think if I had to choose between the CLEAN setting and the WHITE setting I’d choose the CLEAN setting though. I’ll probably only use this one weekly.

    MASSAGE:

At first, I was like, “Why tho?” But you’re supposed to use this in addition to using either CLEAN, WHITE or SENSITIVE to actually brush your teeth. Then you use this to massage your gums. It just slowly goes side to side. I don’t really see myself using this unless I really feel like going that extra mile. Which, let’s be real, is not going to happen that often.

    GUM CARE:

I don’t see myself ever using this setting. It pulses like sonic waves, I just don’t really like the feeling of it. I think if I were to use a setting to massage my gums I’d definitely use the MASSAGE setting over this one.

    SENSITIVE:

Initially, I thought I would prefer this over anything. I was surprisingly wrong. I don’t think it’s intense enough for me to really get that deep clean feeling. I feel like I push too hard when I’m using this setting because I always feel like I need to get deeper and cleaner. I would probably only use this if my teeth were super sensitive after whitening them with my whitening kit.

Overall, I’d say the hype is real. Electric toothbrushes are way better than regular ol’ manual toothbrushes, by far. And I’d definitely suggest this one. Though you could argue the price is not exactly cheap at $119, it is a more affordable option since it’s comparable to a toothbrush worth double that. Also, if you use my discount code 20kristinajohnston you can get it for 20% off which makes it just $95 which is pretty dang cheap for an electric toothbrush. And just so you know, I’m not getting paid to post this, but I’m not gonna lie, if you use my affiliate code I do get a lil’ bit of $ through that, so it’s a win-win for both of us! It’s also not expensive at all to get replacement heads, which is all you’d need to do after you initially purchase the CariPRO toothbrush. You can get 2 replacement heads for $13 (Or around $10 if you use my code 20kristinajohnston), and that means you can change your brush head every 3 months (like you’re supposed to). Then you’re good for an entire year! It’s definitely worth it. Trust me. Your teeth will seriously feel the cleanest they’ve ever felt. After this experience, I am definitely an electric toothbrush convert. I could never go back to a manual toothbrush again!

I think by combining this CariPRO toothbrush and the whitening kit from Smile Brilliant my teeth are going to be dang near perfect. Now if only they had something like Invisalign and I could straighten out these jibs, I’d have the perfect smile. Maybe in the future? I hope so! Fingers crossed that’s next!
